RENCONTRE GRUNDTVIG VALENCE, ESPAGNE Patrick, Belgique
GRUNDTVIG L.E.T IN VALENCIA Daan, Netherlands
During the weekend of 24 – 26 January 2014, we took part in the Grundtvig Learning Partnership Project in the beautiful city of Valencia on Spain’s Mediterranean coast. For us European northerners the first thing we experienced was the lovely weather: we left home with 3 degrees Centigrade and, after a few hours of flying, we arrived at Valencia airport with 20 degrees. This difference made us cheerful at once, having descended in the midst of spring.
A perfect hotel, with friendly people. Valencia is an ancient and beautiful city, with a good mix of old and modern architecture. The Grundtvig programme offered enough free time to enjoy the surroundings.
We all got a warm welcome at Aviv Valencia’s reception. For Kaballat Shabbat (welcoming of the Sabbath) we stayed in the hotel. The programme started with an interesting session about Zemirot (singing). The next morning’s Shacharit service was held in the Aviv Valencia’s intimate building.
Looking back, we all thought the programme was inspiring. The majority of the Grundtvig programme’s attendees met for the fifth time. One could feel the closeness and the relaxed atmosphere that had developed since the programme’s start.
